Date Bike Tour: October, 7th 2017.
The World Rally Car Bike Tour is a new route. We’ll enjoy the unique experience of cycling quietly through Penedès wine country, and live 2 timed sections of the World Rally Championship on the road .
Enjoying an early morning ride (6:30 a.m.) between scenic vineyards, it will take us to the West, to Sant Jaume dels Domenys. From there, we will climb 3 km through the Alt de Les Ventoses, to the place where we will see, from 8:00 a.m., the first pass of competitors. Drivers battle one at a time, driving vehicles up to 380 hp of power , to complete this section as quickly as possible, with timing down to 1/10th second. Along the way, a co-driver reads detailed pace notes that explain what is coming up ahead. When the cars have just passed, we will up to the top of climb to go for a full breakfast/brunch. After this, an area close to Aiguaviva awaits us, to live from 1 pm, the thrilling head-to-head title fight between four-time world champion Sébastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville. At the end we will return to Vilafranca through Torrelles de Foix.
